Whenever it comes to the music of a Yash Raj film, one always has positive expectations. While looking at the reponse to the music of the last two flicks, Tashan and Bachna Ae Haseeno, one can only have hopes and high hopes.
The music of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has Salim-Sulaiman as the composer and Jaideep Sahni as the lyricist.
So, does the music eventually match up to the sky high expectations?
Well, the music ain't that bad but then it is primarily situational - the kind that gets enhanced by picturisation and choreography.
The opening track Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai starts off well but just doesn't pick up enough, courtesy the choice of singer. Trust me Roop Kumar Rathod's voice is just not made for this song. Minus five here.
The song Haule Haule offers some respite from the earlier number. Rendered by Sukhwinder Singh, Haule Haule is once again a situational track, not to miss the main attraction - a bespectacled SRK dancing around in the video.
The second disappointment comes in the form of Dance Pe Chance, sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Labh Janjua.
A four minute remix version of this track called Dancing Jodi marks an end to the album and can be said to be marginally better.
On the whole the score of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi can be described as 'okay' but quite unsuitable for a project which marks the return of Aditya Chopra as a director.
